“I don’t understand.” He really doesn’t. Why would people like him? He’s plain. Average. Unremarkable. He’s not entertaining like Iono or creative like Brassius or friendly like Rika. He can’t even pull off the mysterious, cool aura that Grusha has.

Summary
"Obligate style hearkens aflame this robust earth."
According to Sinclair, this is what Ryōshū says when Dante orders her to utilize her personal E.G.O, the sword and sheath that she keeps by her side at all times. Dante... doesn't have even the slightest idea what that means, which is nothing new when it comes to Ryōshū, but something about it doesn't sit quite right with them.
Maybe they're just seeing something that isn't there. It certainly doesn't square with how Ryōshū is most... no, almost all of the time. Ryōshū herself would almost certainly glare a hole through Dante's clockface for even suggesting it. But the inflection in her voice, the way she holds the sword close to her body before using it, as if she's clinging onto it, and that muted expression on her face, behind her eyes...
Is that... sorrow?
A speculative take on Ryōshū's backstory, (very) loosely based on Ryūnosuke Akutagawa's Hell Screen.

Summary
Junko's art is something she herself could never understand. Yet, when Hecatia sees the process behind it, she finds a deeper meaning underneath, and an impurity as murky as the stained glass Junko sculpts within the divine spirit's heart.
For both of them, that impurity is worth everything.

Summary
"Philip's mindset was flawed even in his awakening, however. He still had distrust in the back of his mind."
When left vulnerable and alone, even the strongest can collapse. Philip, on the other hand, is very well aware that he does not qualify for that title. Time and time again, he chose to flee, abandoning those he cared for and leaving them to die, despite his best efforts. And yet, all the same, he carried with him the remnants of their trust.
Just once, he wants to live up to that trust, to be worthy of all the things he had been given. Desperately, he wants to grow.
When his pain and despair are at their peak, and when the voice only he could hear was at her loudest, Philip chooses to open his eyes and uncover his ears.
So long as he can stand up straight, he can change even the smallest of things- even if he burns himself to ash in the process.
