Summary
After he predicts Pierce Hawthorne's death, Abed attends his funeral with the purpose of chasing down a late payment.
~
Together, they turned to peer down at the reddish-gold streak of sun disappearing below the water. Abed had moved even closer than he’d noticed himself doing, and their shoulders brushed. Their hands crowded the edge of the car’s railing. When their fingers touched, Abed thought he could see every shade of blue the sky had to offer.

Summary
Their day out ended with Joanie going back with Matthew, as was their agreement. Trent was thankful that Joanie seemed unaffected by the tension between him and Matthew—it was rare for her to spend a day like this together with them, and Trent prayed she enjoyed it thoroughly.
With a kiss to a forehead, he left, and started on a journey home—and finally, he arrives at the flat, digging his key into the door and stepping inside. Once in, he’s greeted by a myriad of scents—sweetness, tartness. He takes a deeper sniff and realizes that Ted must be baking. Trent hangs his coat on their coat rack and takes off his shoes, creeping into the kitchen with his socks on. When he arrives at the kitchen, he observes that Ted wasn’t just baking—he was baking.

Summary
Beard, who was freaking out, rushed to get Ted a present. Most of the stores had already closed, but he did manage to score a mug from the school’s souvenir shop. A mug that he had only realized was one half of a couple’s mugs set once it was too late. Ted liked it, strangely enough, and was in fact pretty happy to use a mug that said “Mr. Right” for the year after that.
The next Christmas, Beard got invited to the Lassos’ for Christmas. He had protested at first, but he never quite knew how to say no to Ted. Mama Lasso was as much of a delight as her son, and they had a great time. When it was time for presents, Ted was grinning, clearly proud of what he had picked out for him. Beard cautiously opened it, and found the other half of the set: “Mrs. Always Right”. They had a good laugh about it, and often prominently display it around their dorm room. It started out as a joke, but over time Beard actually found it quite endearing.
Funnily enough, that’s how he would describe his feelings about Ted.
