There is a picture in one of the books of a worn young man, heavily scarred with gentle eyes. Remus Lupin, he is identified as. The man who was watching Charles, and presumably Harry. The man who died defending them. Harry traces his fingertips over the man’s face and wonders.
And then he stops, and reels all those thoughts into a tangled knot and tucks it away.
They didn’t want him; that’s fine. He doesn’t want them either.

Summary
Reeling from his godfather’s death, Harry Potter is withering away in Surrey. His friends believe him when he writes to tell them that he is fine—although, they should know better.
Dumbledore finds an Auror with a sketchy background to take over the Defence classes, and the fact that she lacks the qualifications to teach and would rather cut off her wand hand than take the job doesn’t seem to register with the older man.
With one look at the Chosen One, Hogwarts’ new professor can see that the boy is hurting something fierce. The fact that no one else in Dumbledore’s precious Order of the Phoenix seems to have noticed is perhaps a sign that it was high time she joined up—personal consequences be damned.

Dumbledore is dead, and his plans seem to be falling apart before Severus' eyes. Harry Potter and his friends are no closer to finding and destroying the Horcruxes, and Voldemort's hold over the wizarding world is growing. Severus Snape desperately creates a potion that can send him back five years into the past. Hopefully, with more time, he can find the Horcruxes, find a way to save Harry from the Horcrux inside him and maybe even save some of his other students along the way.
Or he could fail and doom them all.

Adopted into the Black family, Harry will fight against the expectation that he is to defeat the Dark Lord and instead dedicates himself to protecting the dark legacy that has been left to him.

Summary
When Sirius Black escaped Azkaban, Ianthe Potter had no idea how much it would change her life. Her godfather was unwilling to leave her in the control of Dumbledore or at the mercy of the Ministry or the fickle public. It shouldn't have been surprise that a Marauder would blackmail his way into a court appearance. Or get all up in Dumbledore's business. Or bring the wrath of the Wizard's Council and the ICW on the Ministry.
It was definitely a surprise when, six years later, Sirius Black died killing Tom Riddle, called Voldemort.
Ianthe has never been on the simply lay down and accept a wrong; to bow her head to circumstance. What was a little thing like changing history to Lady Ianthe Potter, the daughter and goddaughter of Marauders?
Changing the past is surprisingly easy. Living it might just be harder. Especially when the lives she changed to save the future collide with the one she now lives, thirty years in the past.
Ianthe Potter no longer exists, but Ophelia Manus does. Her past is gone, lost to a future that will never - please, Magic - come to pass. But she has a future in this new past - and, if Orion Black has anything to say about it, she might just have someone to share it with.
