but even love can wither in the face of hate - heart flowers that were so carelessly, thoughtlessly plucked out and discarded, leaving nothing but wilted stems behind. a ghost of what they used to be.
a tragedy told in three chapters, through a journey of regret, reflection and reconciliation. main dish of angsty diluc and sad ghost kaeya as they eventually find their way back to each other, with a side of ghost-whisperer ice bro chongyun and protective rock overlord zhongli in later chapters.

As he introduces himself to his new neighbors, Slade waltzes in and pretends to be Dick's ex-husband. Dick is worried Deathstroke has been hired to kill the target, so he decides to play along so he can keep watch over Slade.

Summary
Mydei is the "King of the Front", the man who turned the deadliest sector of the war into his personal kingdom. Ever since his own father sent him to the swamps of Sector Zero to die a "heroic death". But Mydei survived out of spite and built a "Fortress" there.
Now, he despises politics, hates the "clean ones" from the capital, and believes only in caliber and concrete. He has become uncontrollable, and Headquarters decides to fix this.
The "solution" arrives at the base in the form of the elite Seventh Squadron, "The Sky Hounds", commanded by Major Phainon.
They start a war with each other on the very first day. But when the sky falls to the earth, leaving only burning wreckage in the grey zone, Mydei will have to step into the fire to prove: even if you are born to fly, sometimes you need someone to hold you on the ground.

It was done. Amphoreus was free.
Yet instead of feeling delight, relief or happiness, Phainon... didn't know how to feel. After all of his emotions had burned along with him to ensure they had a chance at winning, there weren't many of them left to feel. But with the new Dawn, came fragile hope that perhaps things could get better.
And that's when the cracks appeared.
He should have known there was yet another price he had to pay, that his body could never withstand so many cycles. He thought that perhaps he would have more time to finally bask in the sunlight with others, but instead he has to learn to count his days as his mind falls into despair and his body breaks down.
Perhaps the only thing he can do before he runs out of time is... to say goodbye to everyone.
