Varang's eyes are transfixed on the blood dripping darkly into the ash at your feet. She steps closer, slow now, eyes tracking every drop, every tremor in your jaw as you swallow against the pain. She exhales through her nose, something like a soft laugh. Her fingers lift as if to strike again, then pause midair. She watches instead, eyes bright, almost fevered, as another line of blood slips from the corner of your mouth.
“You spill so easily,” she murmurs, voice low, almost pleased.
