“Why are you helping me?” His voice was deep and gravelly, a thick rasp from disuse. Tommy thought it sounded nice. Not that he would ever admit it aloud.
“I’m doing my job.”
“I don’t think that would entail giving me bandages then later cleaning and wrapping my injuries,” He stated dryly. Tommy hated that he wasn’t wrong. “That is much more than what your job is.”
“I don’t know.” Tommy simply stated, rising onto unsteady feet as the blood rushing back brought pins and needles. He wiggled his toes from within his boots. The fabric of his socks was uncomfortable as it rubbed against his skin.
He murmured something unintelligible beneath his breath.
“Hm?”
“I don’t think you deserve to die here.”

Summary
Tommyinnit was a hero
Tommy, a hero in training, is apprenticing under Dream, the Number One Hero. Which was, you know, awesome. The only life Tommy had ever known was this one, he didn’t even remember what he had been like before Dream, Sapnap and George.
But tension is brewing under the surface, and whispers are spreading throughout Manberg. Whispers of lies and traitors and villains.
But that wasn’t Tommy’s problem! Because he just had to worry about not letting Dream down, making sure he didn’t set Niki’s cafe on fire, and trying not to get too close to the vigilantes that he had seen wandering the streets at night.
There was also the problem of the villains, and how everything Tommy had been told about them seemed to be false. Maybe this was gonna be harder than Tommy thought.

Summary
Again, Tommy knew he shouldn’t care. But he knew he’d never be able to live with himself if he did what Wilbur asked. This guy deserved a chance to live, even if he was undead. His chance at a normal human life had been stolen, and while Tommy couldn’t explain why, he felt like he had to make that up to him.
“Just… let me try to find you a blood source that doesn’t involve hurting people,” Tommy said, squeezing his shoulders. “Once we get that worked out, and you don’t have to worry about feeding, we can figure out where to go from there.”
The frustration slowly leaked out of Wilbur’s face, until the only thing left in the lines of his forehead was exhaustion. Not physical exhaustion, but something more. Something deeper.
“You’re the worst fucking vampire hunter I’ve ever met.”
aka the fic where Tommy's google search history is probably 'what do I do when the vampire I'm trying to kill is depressed as hell and I feel too bad to actually kill him?'
(turns out the answer is 'make him your roommate and have a found family arc together')
