God I love this concept souch and I love gens internal conflict, how nuanced it is in showing they're not unloving or abusive parents, but they're not necessarily the best parents bcos of how controlling they are yet don't put enough restrictions and I rlly love complicated family dynamics. God what I'd give to see a part 2 I'll probably nvr seeeed

The world is beautiful, Gen thinks to himself. He doesn’t appreciate it often enough. He rarely has the chance to. If Senku brought him up here just to share this sight, Gen owes him a reaction. So, aloud this time, Gen says, “It’s beautiful.”
Senku’s arm falls away from Gen’s waist, but he doesn’t back away. “Right?” he says. He isn’t looking at the view.
Senku's been dropping hints. Gen's a sorry excuse for a mentalist for not picking up on them.

I love this fic so much I wa wanna scream cry throw up swoon when I'm in public which is not a good thing- god gens emotional turmoil is fuel to me and the seemingly doomed unrequited love corner is a the match and I am burninggg. Like how did they manage to turn a cliche movie trope into smth that is gripping onto my internal organs and watching it crumble with an apathetic fascination.

I love this fic so muchhhhhh it's so goooood it's got the humour, the hurt/comfort that slipped in despite this supposedly being a comedy(happens way too often but I don't blame em cos the hurt/comfort is so gooood, and the romance is still sappy without being too over the top and god all the themes are explored so welllll. I haven't watched the anime so I'll have to take ppls word for it when they say the characterisation is good but it genuinely does seem that way from what I've seen with all their unique personalities like senkus logical non sentimental thinking and gens more teasing and overthinking self and all the things that they ponder over in this fic make so much sense for the chatacters. This fic gives me flashbacks to reading genshin fics bcos of the sheer amount of moral lessons but god it's explores the themes so goooood. I gotta number all the themes bcos there's so many but they're all done so well but 1. That difficulty to grasp the concept of love, especially the romanticization of the tragedy of it is so real and would totally be smth senku struggles with
2. The simplicity of feelings, how it's rlly a choice to hold on to love the same way u hold onto fate, how they're both similar in that aspect 3. Change and routine in building a civilization, all the contradictions slotting tgt perfectly 4. The private intimacy of love, god I love the way it's described, doesn't have to be loud just has to be loud between those who share it, seeping into every moment gorgeous descriptionsss. Hilarious fic with gorgeous exploration of themes, great writing, great character development and exploration god what isn't there to love -
