Summary
After escaping execution from the Briarwoods, Scanlan along with his friends Pike and Grog set out to escape their homicidal rule only to get immediately captured again. Fortunately, they are saved by Vex'halia, a half-elf former captain of Whitestone, and her crow companion and learn of her mission to kill the Briarwoods and end their reign of terror. However strange things start happening after their team up, such as a giant brown bear showing up at night and a strange young man with white hair seemingly beside it. As they continue on their journey, the discover the sad truth behind their new companions and begin work together to help defeat the Briarwoods and break their curse.
