Summary
A month after Alec moved in, he suggested that they redecorate the apartment together.
“No.”
Magnus frowned. “No?”
Alec turned the page of the book he was reading, apparently completely unconcerned with the conversation. “I mean, it’s sweet of you to ask, but it’s unnecessary.”
Alec doesn't have a lot of things to bring to Magnus's apartment when he moves in after they get married, and he doesn't have any interest in changing the apartment to suit him better. This bothers Magnus, and he's not quite sure why or what to do about it.

Magnus got a bad feeling for the second time that night. "I'm not sure the problem has ever been that you didn't know how to dance, it was in the execution."
Alec rolled his eyes. “Fine, then I've been improving my execution of my dancing knowledge. I’ve been taking lessons.”
On their sixth anniversary, Alec surprises Magnus with a gift that Magnus once dreamed about.

Summary
Drow are quite inconveniently sensitive to daylight. Essek considers it a burden to both himself and his traveling companions.
When fighting off an onslaught of light-sensitive Aeorian spiders, Essek has to confront the fact that the Nein might not consider him an inconvenience at all.
———
The spiders pressed in further. Essek gave a flippant gesture with one arm, to the tune of ‘just do it already—I am not so fragile.’
‘Fajar’, Caleb said as he relented, hoisting the orb into the air. The driftglobe exploded like the sun itself.

Summary
Caleb is late coming home from Soltryce and Essek is worried. He is right to be.
Caleb had approximately four different paths he regularly took from Soltryce to his home. Given that it was a Wednesday, Astrid was on business in Nicodranas, and their usual butcher had a family emergency in the countryside, there were really only two routes he was likely to take. Factoring in Caleb’s distaste for the cacophony of Wednesday’s market in the square at the midway point and that it was sweet corn season, Essek assumed he would take the more winding of the routes to pass by the quieter vegetable stand and the baker.
It was not a overly long walk, but as Essek marched through the street, he bitterly thought that it was long enough to take time he worried he did not have.

Summary
What determines where you end up when you hold one location in your mind with intent, but touch a different teleportation token? Essek will consider this later. Instead, as he plunges into the ocean off the coast of Rumblecusp, his body and mind freeze.
Essek does not have a first thought.
His second thought is less of a thought, and more of the primal, deep scream of the body locking up from the combination of rapid temperature change and sudden immersion. Verbal, somatic, material: it is all irrelevant when one is unable to think or move.
Essek accidentally teleports into the ocean while evading the Dynasty. 0/10 does not recommend.

Summary
On their second trip into Aeor, Caleb and Essek just wanted to end a long, tiring day by curling up in bed together. Maybe in another reality.
“Herr Shadowhand,” he intones as flat and long-sufferingly as possible while the curl of his mouth trembles traitorously, “I thought we agreed, no more arcane bullshit today.”
If Essek were currently capable of speech he’d have something endearingly bitchy to say about that, no doubt.

Bookmarker's Notes
This is bloody fantastic. It's so in-character, comfortably in-universe, but goes deeper into the emotional beats - and to top it all off, the plot is darn interesting too. Highly, HIGHLY recommend.
