When disaster strikes, the Grey Wardens are reduced to a ragtag bunch of misfits: a Teyrn's daughter with self-esteem issues, her elder brother with a penchant for playing the hero, the royal bastard with a sense of humor as his preferred shield, a sweet, petite city elf with a big two-handed sword, the skilled Dalish elf feeling like a fish out of water, an exiled dwarf prince with a secret weakness for cute things, his new friend, a casteless dwarf armed with a sharp tongue, the healer mage who can only heal when sufficiently enraged, the gentle Circle prodigy who recently passed his harrowing, his annoyingly protective elder sister that can breathe fire literally, the frustrated apostate mage who is too eager to make new friends, and a farmer's son who has no idea what he's doing with the rest.
Whatever was the Maker thinking when he thrust the fate of Thedas on their shoulders? Even with the friends and companions sent along their way to help them, there's simply no way that nothing could go wrong, right?

Summary
If all of the potential Inquisitors were there at the Conclave, what might have happened had others survived? Erafen Lavellan survived the explosion at the Conclave (by conveniently not being in the building) only to find herself now distrusted by strangers with no means of escape and too great a sense of responsibility to let herself leave when given the freedom to.
This spawned from a what-if about a Lavellan that did not become Inquisitor.
(This work is mostly focused on her, though there are relationships growing, mostly Cullen/Inquisitor and Dorian/Iron Bull.)
