The sight drew the attention of everyone starting from the entrance steps all the way to the council chamber, leading to joking rumors that Obi-Wan had finally acquired a new padawan.

Anakin sighs. "It's not something I talk about often," he says, though she doesn't know if he means Tatooine, or his abilities. "It's just—complicated."
She's known that about him, at the least, since they met. The whole Temple knows Anakin Skywalker is complicated.
Ahsoka looks at her hands, still wrapped around the controls, and thinks that there are many things far more complicated than being Anakin’s padawan.
“I don’t mind complicated,” she tells him, turning her attention to him in time to see soft, genuine smile bloom across his face.
He makes a sound, somewhere between a chuckle and a sigh. “Love you, too, Snips,” he says, and maybe it was supposed to be sarcastic, but his love is too real, too abundant for it to be anything other than sincere.

“Jus’ like a sun,” Anakin murmurs, and Obi-Wan has to strain to hear it, almost misses it. He stills. “Beautiful shining sun,” Anakin continues, and presses his face further into the pool of robes. His voice is slow and sleepy, and Obi-Wan realizes he can tell Anakin is about to drop off into sleep. He blinks, lifting his head to stare down at him in something between awe and shock. That seems to be the standard operating procedure when it comes to Anakin, he thinks, a little wry, a little wondrous.
“‘ll marry you, someday, shining sun,” Anakin mumbles, his signature flaring brighter than it’s ever been for just a single, blinding moment before it fades when he falls asleep, leaving Obi-Wan feeling—feeling like that ocean has rushed back over him without notice, a gentle stream suddenly swept up into a raging river, only to just a quickly recede back out into a deceptive stillness.

Instead of praises and a smile for a Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi leaves for Utapau after exchanging harsh and bitter words with his troublesome 19-year-old padawan. Frustrated, he still has hope that they will make things right when he comes back and the war is almost over.
Ten years after Order 66, Obi-Wan still believes that the last conversation he had with his padawan was a violent argument. It feels like he’s abandoning him once again when he decides to let go of his search for him, and finally join the Rebellion.
He finds here more than he expected.

Summary
Anakin and Obi-Wan help out in the creche as the younglings make cards and learn an important holiday lesson about love as opposed to attachment. It turns out Anakin needs to learn that lesson too.
While trying to avoid the answer to a question about who Anakin's best friend is, Anakin accidentally ends up with a rotating list of best friends consisting of every youngling in the creche. Everyone gets a turn to be Anakin Skywalker's best friend which leaves Obi-Wan, who was once fairly confident in his status as Anakin's best friend, strangely hurt. Why didn't he just answer the question with the answer everyone expected and save them all the trouble?
After everything they've been through, does Anakin not know how Obi-Wan feels about him? Or worse, does Anakin not feel the same?

Forced to stay on Coruscant for the foreseeable future, he has to rely on his former padawan to help him. And, embarrassing as it is, it may be just what he needed after all.
