Steve sat in his office, he was unsure on how to break the news to his team. To his Danny. He closed his eyes and let his head fall on the headrest of his chair. When did Danny, become his Danny? He sighed, it didn’t matter. All that mattered is that he had to tell him. The sooner the better. He was leaving a week from Monday.

“What you doing back?” Steve asked as he looked at the breakfast spread.
Danny smiled. “I never left, I told you I’d watch over you.”
Steve choked on a sob, and hid his face for a moment. Pretending water was dropping onto it from his hair. “Thanks Danny.”
“Yeah, enjoy some food huh?” Danny said down. Realizing the real thank you from Steve. It wasn’t for breakfast, it was for staying with him through the night.

As the rest of the team ate food and talked, Steve finally pulled himself from the water. He looked up and his mouth fell open. “Christ.” He mumbled.
Danny looked up at Steve. “What’s wrong?”
“Cath is back.”
“What!” Danny shouted, sitting up and turning around.
He towel himself off as Catherine walked towards Steve with a smile.
“Hey, soldier. You look great.”
“Catherine, what are you doing here?”
“I’ve come to see you.” She said with a smile.
“I see that.” Steve said, running his hand through his hair.
“Don’t I get a welcome home hug?” Catherine asked taking a step forwards.

Hawkeye steps aside with a swanning wave of his arms and lets them size each other up. For BJ, it’s a bit like a slap in the face. Or a bucket of water thrown on him. He’s finally putting the face to the name, a voice to the stories. All the little details are filling in– his hazel eyes, his crooked smile, his shoulders, his hair, his drawling accent. After barely a split second, Trapper— The Trapper, the one, the only, the infamous, the shadow that haunted BJ for two years— grins big and warm and puts out his hand.

Summary
Hawkeye has trouble figuring out what 'home' means, after the War. Sidney enrolls him in a long-term clinical trial to help him process his trauma and adjust to civilian life. He finds letter writing therapeutic, and tries to stay in touch with all of his friends from the 4077.
Father Mulcahy is trying to repair the discriminatory divide at his new parish, where the large Deaf population is not being heard by the hearing population. BJ is not able to build the perfect domestic life, like he hoped. Trapper is researching the polio vaccine for children. Margaret is going to medical school, Charles is going to the symphony, Radar is working at a hospital, Frank needs the same attention Hawkeye is getting. Hawkeye realizes the maladjustment is mutual; it makes him feel better to know he's making someone else feel better.
