Summary
He then turned his attention to the other God in their little group as if just then noticing his presence. “Pardon me but I believe I have never seen you in attendance of one of these before and no one has seen it fit to introduce us” he said, throwing the Director a scathing side-glance. “I am Blackheart, God of Death and ruler of the Underworld, but you can call me Ballister,” at this he ignored the Director’s lifted eyebrows and calculating stare. “And who might you be?”
The Director pulled herself to her full height. “This is my protégé, Ambrosius Goldenloin, God of Spring. I’m sorry I didn’t introduce you before, but this is the first time the two of you have attended the same event.” She said coldly. “Please behave yourself Blackheart, he is very important. We don't want you corrupting him.”
At that a flash of fury crossed the God’s face before his expression smoothed out into one of detached politeness. “I can speak for myself and I’m sure there is nothing to worry about, Ballister here seems like very polite company, and even if he wasn’t I’m not some defenseless child, Director.” His tone was neutral, but Ballister could see the fiery and righteous anger shimmering underneath.

Summary
Morning found Ballister with Ambrosius still spooned up behind him, a warm line against his back. Judging from the soft puffs of breath that he could feel against his nape, Ballister could only assume that the man was still sleeping; the gray light filtering through the curtains seemed to suggest that it was still early.
As knights, early mornings had been their norm, but now? Now, it was less important: they were still taking their time trying to figure out what to do with their lives after the fall of the Institute. Ballister could have easily drifted back off to sleep without a care in the world, but then Ambrosius was shifting, the arm slung over Ballister’s midsection tightening ever so slightly.

Summary
Ballister works as a professor in a fairly small neighborhood in the mountains, spending his time as what he convinces himself to be a perfectly okay level of loneliness to drown himself in his work with.
One day he finds a stray (and admittedly) rude cat that some asshole decided to dye pink.
He’d probably take it to a shelter, vet, or foster home, if it weren’t for how weirdly human it seemed sometimes.
Still, it’s nice to have someone to complain to about the annoying morning jogger that he keeps running into.

Ambrosius works as a barista in an entirely normal neighborhood in an entirely normal way. After leaving his famous family behind, he struggled to grasp the bearings of what “normal” even meant.
But that was okay! He was learning! Besides, he was relishing in his own freedom way too much to worry about silly little things like crying himself to sleep or loneliness or whatever might plague his days. Everyone had those issues!
And besides, running into the cute guy who sits out on his porch with a pink cat is WAY more fun than worrying about all that.
