“And?” Every word coming from Paz threatened to wind him tighter. His hands curled into fists on his knees, his muscles protesting the sudden bunching. He’d been on too many jobs, not enough rest in between.
Paz swiveled his head around, smoothly bringing his attention back to Din and Din alone. “You need an outlet.” He held out a hand expectantly. “Come. Let me give you one.”

“How will you atone?” Paz questioned.
Din made a noise of confusion. “The mines-“
“No.” Paz said. “I mean to me. How will you atone to me?”
OR
The fight for the darksaber and the admission of his sin left Din battered and heartbroken. Paz, on the other hand, wanted to know who the kriff got to see Din’s face before he did.

In this story: Maul tracks down The Naboo Royal Starship a bit earlier, while Qui-Gon and his posse are still gambling on podraces in Mos Espa.
When Maul attacks, it’s left to Padawan Kenobi to defend the ship and faux Queen. Or at least, he tries to defend them . . . until Maul takes him down.

Summary
Maul dies on Tatooine and wakes up over 40 years in the past. He quickly seizes the opportunity to change his fate and free himself from his Master, to save his brothers, including the one he doesn't yet know he has, and plot a new revenge against Darth Sidious with the advantages of time, foreknowledge and a surprisingly familiar Mandalorian face. It isn't only his own destiny that Maul's actions will change for the better, but that of Jango Fett and the entire Mandalorian people.
As far as the Force and the Ka'ra are concerned, healing hearts through the power of family and friendship will just be a nice side effect of saving the galaxy from its terrible future.

Jango and Obi-Wan hijack a freighter and go on a galactic road trip to kill a man.

Montross is a little cleverer on Korda VI. Jango ends up tossed into the cargo hold of 'The Stryker', a slaver freighter taking him to parts unknown and well out of Montross's way. Melida/Daan, weakened by its infighting and the Young suffering catastrophic losses, are raided by opportunistic slavers, resulting in Obi-Wan captured as a prize to be sold to a 'special' client - Force sensitive slaves are, after all, valuable cargo (and there is a dark shadow in the galaxy always on the look out for forgotten, powerful Force sensitives).
By sheer luck - or maybe the Force - they're locked in cages beside each other. They plan, they escape... and the future shifts.

Fox dies.
Except he doesn’t, because as soon as the creepy Sith ritual drains the last of the blood from his body, he wakes up…somewhere. Somewhere else, where, for once, he can’t feel the Emperor’s claws digging into his head every hour of the cycle.
Unfortunately, this somewhere else is so deep in the middle of nowhere that he gets picked up by a mandalorian—some asshole called Montross who quickly proves that he’d be more helpful dead, especially once Fox finds out that this shabuir wants to sell him off to the Kyr’tsad. In a final bid for freedom, Fox disposes of his would-be captor, commandeers his ship, and goes on the run from the man’s terrorist Kyr’tsad friends and his weird Haat Mando’ad coworkers.
…until the weird coworkers finally catch up to Fox.
Or: upon his death, Fox is thrown several decades into the past, lands in Mandalore’s backyard, gets himself adopted, and (mostly intentionally) alters the course of the galaxy.
Oh, and he isn’t the only vod to get tossed through time and space.
