Summary
Danny would like to say for the record that it was not his fault.
In fact, Danny would say that it was entirely Clockwork's fault. After all, he wouldn't even be in this situation if it wasn't for that cryptic time god.
But what was his fault was the fact that he kept helping.
He kept taking the cash from the assholes messing with the residents who lived in the area (and damn there were a lot of assholes near where he lived). He kept accepting their offers of food. So because of this new routine that kept him able to afford to rent out his shitty (and possibly illegal) apartment and the hunger pangs sufficiently satisfied, rumors grew.
tldr; after Clockwork dropped of Danny in Gotham he tries to make the best out of the situation which includes helping out some people. Except along the way that led to rumors that he was an up-and-coming crime boss. A rumor he was largely unaware of.

In a shell-struck old observatory on a hill overlooking the ruined remains of two civilizations, Lucy MacLean goes with her gut and decides to throw her lot in with the only person around offering her a feasible path forward. The Ghoul pretends he isn’t relieved to hear her footsteps trailing his own. Across the breadth of the country and the spans of time, events would begin to transpire to allow for their shared endeavor to be a success. Summary
Juno and Minerva had presented two options to Desmond, both equally awful. But who were they to tell him those were the only two options? The Apple responded to him for a reason, after all.
Rather than die to save the world, Desmond uses the Grand Temple and the Apple to search for a better option. Not just for the world, for himself, but for Ezio, who suffered so much for so little reward.
It's December, 1476, and Desmond, fueled with the power and calculations of the Apple, intends on rewarding his prophet, not with answers, but with something better: a chance to save his family, and to correct his biggest regret concerning Leonardo.
Desmond knows saving the world will be easier with more Auditore men. It will certainly be more attractive, that's for sure.

The reminder of the Major’s death, the kindly old beta who saw him for him, brought tears to his eyes, and he desperately hoped that the smoke would hide it.
“... Okay. Who do I give it to?”
“It’s quite a few years ahead of schedule, and quite frankly I’m not even sure if it’s going to work, but Boothroyd always spoke highly of you and you are one of the very few TSS workers still remaining. I’ve spoken to R, the only survivor with seniority over you, and she is quite adamant to remain in her current position with your approval... Which leaves you”.
M held out a pen.
“Quartermaster”.Or, “I don’t just have one alpha”. Q grinned, bloody and feral. “I have nine. They’re called the double-0 program; perhaps you’ve heard of them?”

This is so good. I might print this out just to read whenever. It says it's not complete but honestly I wouldn't be too bent out of shape if this was the end. There is a cliffhanger. I really want there to be more, because it's so well written!!
