Summary
Things have been suspiciously quiet lately, the world around him melting into a slow crawl as Shoto adjusts to this new dynamic in his life. Admittedly, suspicious may have been a generous word for Shoto’s inward- and near constant- vigilance, expecting for the rug to be pulled out from underneath him at any moment. It’s been almost a month now and he thinks maybe it’s safe to unclench, to let himself relax into these hazy moments that make him feel like an actual teenager. The thought becomes more and more appealing as Izuku gestures wildly with his hands as he debates quirk logistics with Tenya, the corners of his mouth decidedly happy even as he jokingly snarks off at the other boy.
For a moment, he relaxes, his shoulders drifting down further from his ears.
Then the most earth shattering, monumental thing that will ever happen to him occurs- his phone vibrates.

Summary
See the problem is- outside of the bloodlust and obsession with taking Rachel’s life- Zack’s kind of gotten attached to Rachel. She’s what he imagines having a little sister might’ve been like if he grew up like other kids. She isn’t normal herself, not by a mile, but if he squints at those jagged edges he can almost see them smoothened out. She’s the only damn thing in this world he’s got besides his own self and admittedly he’s not the best company to keep.
So being attached to her, a problem, but a small one admittedly. As attached as he may be, he’s not beyond removing himself of attachments. He has no use of them really, dead weight to pull at what very little of a conscience he does have, no matter how lonely that ideology may leave him.
Except when he breaks her out of the facility he hesitates.

Summary
And Miu- well, Miu is a different story.
Her figure is fuller- like many of the girls, as Kaede’s observed- and her hair shorter. It’s a wild mess of strawberry blonde curls, but the mop of hair stops at her shoulders here.
Her lashes are lighter without mascara, shorter as well, and it’s a weird sort of awareness to see Miu’s face slack of anything. She must’ve been wearing make up before getting in the pod, because there’s soft pink flecks of glitter under her brow bone that the staff failed to scrub off.
There’s a weird impulse for Kaede to brush it away with the pad of her thumb that she only manages to resist because she can’t open the pod door.

Kaede struggles with who she really is after waking up from the events of the game and realizes there’s things out there that make it all worth it.
