Summary
One thing about Will Byers was that he did not confess to people. Not because he thought he was too good for it. Actually, quite the opposite. When he fell in love, he forgot how it felt to be a functioning member of society. Instead of risking the chance of being seen as an absolute creep, he wrote letters that he kept in a velvet, heart-shaped box. This way, he could feel like he got some sense of closure as the feelings eventually faded. Four boys had the honor of being the subjects of these letters.
What happens when someone manages to send out the letters that Will intended to take to the grave?

“Try...” Will couldn't finish that line, not when he felt Richie burning a hole in the side of his face.
Richie seamlessly continued what Will had left hanging.
“Kiss, like... like everyone else does, you know. Lips touching, maybe a little tongue and saliva, and... whatever you want”
Richie Tozier came to visit his family in Hawkins for the summer of 1985 without many expectations. It was just a coincidence that Will Byers was the only one in the Party without a partner, a perfect opportunity for practice for when they both got girlfriends, right?

Summary
Now, someone walked into the room. A boy, awkwardly standing at the side of his bed, looking over him worriedly. His hair was brown and scruffy, and he had big baby doe eyes and a yellow-and-blue horizontally-striped shirt like a cartoon character. The window was lighting him up like he was important to Mike’s narrative. The curtains are blue, thought Mike, this boy is light. I love metaphors. Maybe he was high on the pain meds. Upon seeing him, Mike felt a great affection, a great peace. Plus, he had long eyelashes. Mike almost giggled to himself. He was definitely a little high.
“Hi.” breathed Mike.
“Hi.” he said, hesitating.
“We’re friends?” Mike asked hopefully.
Or: During the Party's final battle with Vecna, Mike is gravely injured and loses his memories. He wakes up in a hospital only remembering a handful of inconsequential little things, like how much he loves a boy who seems like light.

Summary
Will wasn’t having a good night's sleep tonight. His side hurt where he lay, and his neck felt stiff and twisted. Had his bed always been this cold and hard?
Something was creeping up his leg; it felt freezing and slimy, like a vine.
A familiar chill went up his spine. The smell, the darkness, the cold.
The thing was twisting around his ankle, sliding up all the way to his knee, when he was yanked.
He finally opened his eyes only to see darkness. He was being dragged through dirt and branches.
And as the thing dragging him pulled him down into the earth, down into his doom, he reached his hand one last time; he tried to grab something, someone, anything, but nothing could save him this time.“Hey, Will,” Mike was walking up to him as he spoke. “Do you want me to come by your house later today? I just started this new comic, and I think you’ll really like it. I can bring it to you, and we can read it together, if you want.”
Or: Will is having nightmares again, and Mike tries his best to cheer him up.

A ripple. Mike’s head shoots back upwards, willing his eyeballs to develop night vision as he squints at the lake. Maybe he should've been eating carrots like Nancy said. The lake remains eerily calm. Mike squints harder.
Silence. Even the trees have quietened, like someone turning down the volume on the world.
The torch flicks back on just as something grabs at Mike’s ankle.
It falls somewhere to his side and Mike sees, past the frantic up and down of his chest, something crawl out of the lake.

It’s short in reality, barely even three seconds, but it’s like an eternity to Mike. Will’s lips are soft, perfectly fitting against his, like they were made to come together like that.

Will opens the fridge with a small pop of the door seal, and reaches in to grab two Gatorade bottles off the top shelf; yellow for himself, and orange for Mike. The glass bottles clink against one another as he passes one to Mike. As he goes to take the offered bottle from Will, it slips between their fingers and shatters loudly across the linoleum; orange liquid splashing both of their pants. Immediately, Will tenses. They hear Lonnie startle awake with a grunt from the living room. Will looks towards Mike with fear plastered across his face, a fear that gives Mike pause.

Will forced himself to stop thinking. The Upside Down was closed for good. Eleven had close the gate last year and saved them all. His mother, Jonathan and Nancy had taken the Mind Flayer out of him. There was nothing more connecting him to that place. He was clean. Purged. And those stupid chills he got from time to time in the back of his neck were just his brain messing up with him. It was him not being able to move on from what happened in the past. It was him not being able to grow the fuck up already.
Dustin clapped his hands, the sound echoing in the calm night, making Will snapped out of his thoughts. “We can become heroes, Will. Honest to God American heroes. Like freaking Red dawn or something.”

“Sorry to do this to you, Will, but I needed to leave for work, like, thirty minutes ago, so please,” she clasps her hands together, her tone pleading, “deal with this?”Due to a 'clerical' error, Mike's DnD alter shows up at Will's doorstep, while the real Mike is nowhere to be found...

“He really does look like Mike,” Lucas breathes, as he gives Mike’s twin a scan, head to toe.
“Yeah, if Mike were way hotter and a knight?” Max chips in, and Will can vaguely hear Mike muttering again. “He looks so medieval, like he’s from Camelot or some shit.”
“I am Michael,” the knight begins to plead again. He turns his doe eyes back to Will, returning to his side like a diligent guard, even going as far as to reach out and take his hands. “Please, you have to believe me. I would never lie to you. Have I ever broken our oath? Let me prove it.”
Will was a bit preoccupied with gazing into the knight’s eyes, his cheeks flushing under the intense stare and the way his hands were held so gently. Mike had no issues ruining their moment.
“And he’s weirdly obsessed with Will.” Mike sounds even angrier than he did in the woods, and his sharp tone is enough for Will to snap out of his hand-holding to step a respectable distance away from the knight. “We need to send him back to wherever he came from.”
