Summary
Riley, a 29-year-old aura guardian in training, is plagued by uncertainty over his life's path. He may be the last aura-manipulating human in the world. But he's unsure if he's even worthy of being an aura guardian, much less decide how to handle his ancestors' legacy.
Meanwhile, in the Hisui era, a merchant is preparing to release an eldritch being. So, at the suggestion of Mew, Arceus sends Riley back in time to prevent Volo from summoning Giratina.
Now stuck in a time where pokemon are more adversary than friend, Riley must navigate new people, traditions, and life-threatening situations—without anyone knowing of his aura abilities. He'd rather not have a mob of people with pitchforks and torches run him out, thanks.
