Suguru’s heartbeat crawled, howling under his skin. And then, oh, then Satoru smirked, with that crooked tilt of his lips only Suguru would recognize—lazy, cruel, like he knew something Suguru didn’t. The frame of his sunglasses caught the light as his other hand clenched into a fist, his stance solidifying. There was nothing playful here.
Suguru forced a grin, baring his teeth like it might make this easier.
"Don’t hold back," he shouted, summoning the dragon, its form writhing in the air behind him. The first-grade curses came next.
