The door opened, and in stepped Spencer Reid—except this time, he looked nothing like the Spencer they were used to. He was wearing a high-cropped black band tee with a confusing graphic design, his sleeves rolled up to reveal tattoos none of them had seen before. His jeans were ripped at the knees, his boots worn but sturdy, and there was a silver chain around his neck. His hair was a bit messier than usual, styled in an effortlessly cool way, and his eyes were lined with dark eyeliner. And then there were the piercings—the subtle septum piercing that caught the light as he moved, the two studs on his left eyebrow, his nose ring, and the plethora of piercings he had scattered over his ears.
The team fell silent.
Spencer smiled and waved awkwardly, oblivious to the stunned silence. “Hey, guys. Sorry I’m late. I was at a party with some friends.”
