Summary
Having traits associated with an animal is a rather inconvenient thing to be. One moment, you have scales for the aesthetic and symbolic representation of your role as selfish temptation away from God's helping light. And the next, Thomas learns snakes shed, which meant Creativity and Logic decide that means you would too.
The younger versions of them didn't do that maliciously, or anything. The blame simply falls on their shoulders as the brains and commands of the very canonical mindscape that resides in Thomas' head. Logic for his 'grounded' perspective, for sleeping schedules, eating, and overall their imaginary bodies "working right". Creativity for their existence in the first place, of their more wacky nature of shapeshifting, or cooking operating with no regards for time.
Janus becoming cold-blooded happened the same way. Though, in the scheme of things, they're all rather cold-blooded by virtue of being parts of a person, meaning they shouldn't be able to have a cold or hot-blooded distinction. Yet, here they are, with these enforced natures.
