“We’ll get out,” he says, out of nowhere. As if the John Egan from before had magically appeared in Stalag Luft Three. Had come knocking on the door, hat politely in hand. Asking if he could please take insane little Bucky out on town. His smile wide, hair gently pomaded, his eyes clear and jovial. Only to the movies, he would say, straight back after. Before the clock struck nine.
John struggles as his sense of self, memories, and feelings start eroding, because the same week won't stop repeating over and over again. That is, until his friend Buck starts acting a little different than usual.
