They exchanged only a few more words before it was time to part—the taxi driver wouldn’t wait forever. Shouldering his heavy bag, Nathan walked toward the cab where Elena was waiting.
He turned instinctively for one last look. Sam’s figure was already far away, his features indistinguishable at that distance, but his eyes still shone in the deepening dark like the North Star guiding travelers. It had been far too long since Nathan had seen his brother look at him that way, and for an instant, he was rooted to the spot.
His brother just stood there quietly, tall and thin with slightly hunched shoulders, his face hidden in the darkness—only the glowing tip of his cigarette flickering faintly red.
And in that moment, Nathan nearly burst into tears.

primarily paul/george, background/potential ringo/george, can be an au or close to canon as possible. paul has carefully manipulated an unaware george over the course of their entire friendship, he is possessive and protective of george under the guise of looking out for him, wanting (knowing) what's best for him. george complies and if anyone tries to point out their weird, dependent relationship to him, he'll just shrug and say that while paul could be a bit odd sometimes, he's almost always right. (example: if paul doesn't approve of a potential friend/girlfriend, he warns george about them. then, their attitude and behavior changes drastically the next time they see george. they become mean, cruelly breaking up with him or telling him to leave them alone. eventually, george's only friends are paul's friends.)
in an au scenario, john works at the same place as paul. when one of their important coworkers unexpectedly stops showing up to work, paul just so happens to mention that he knows someone looking for a job. (if canon divergent, john brings a different guitarist to show paul, who visibly disapproves, then introduces john to george.) when george is hired, paul makes sure they're working the same shifts.

Dutch’s mental breakdown happens a lot sooner and a lot differently than anyone originally thought. His lack of control is unbearable. He can’t control Molly anymore, and he begins to fear his hold on his own gang is slipping. He finds an unfortunate outlet to deal with his feelings of helplessness in both his sexual and gang life: the O’Driscoll. After all, no one would believe Colm’s old horse hand, and, even if they did, no one would care enough about the boy to protect him. Right?
When Hosea finds out who his partner in crime really is, he must find a way to put a stop to his terrible new hobby while also carefully protecting his sons from the man they were supposed to be able to trust.
