Summary
During the battle at the Department of Mysteries, Harry managed to nick a time turner "just in case" and uses it to go back and save Sirius Black.
But Harry and Hermione don't notice the inscription "errata corrige, futura corrige"- fix the wrong, fix the future. When the time turner stops spinning, it's not just a day they traveled, but 15 years. It's 1981.

Hermione turned the knob on instinct, and fell back hard against a grassy ground.
Only three living people came to mind when she considered who might be skilled enough to fend off Fiendfyre: McGonnigal, Flitwick, and Snape.
But, no, not Snape. She had stood up for him long enough. Never again.
