Summary
In the aftermath of killing the High Celebrant, Crow finds out the truth about his past self from a less forgiving Young Wolf, and runs away-- to an alternate reality the Hive are threatening. They're not the only problem; this new universe is full of terrible threats, the likes of which no Lightbearer has ever faced. But it's not all bad; after all... Spider can't get him here.
He's stuck here anyway, so he might as well make the most of it.
But is adjusting even possible, when all you've ever known is violence and abuse? Is the Normandy the right place for someone so used to a harsher world? Or can the ship with a place for everything without a place finally give him and Glint something worth healing for?

“Sorry,” Ken says. “I know I shouldn’t be awake. Kirijou-san wouldn’t be happy either. I couldn’t sleep, which I know isn’t an excuse to be down here risking waking people up, but I just…”
Ken trails off. Makoto waits for him to elaborate, but he doesn’t. On a better night, Makoto would put down his bag and offer to warm Ken some milk, maybe stick around and talk to him for a while about whatever must be troubling him enough to keep him up. He already promised he’d be in for a shift tonight, though, and he does need the money to buy Junpei some new armour, so it’s not like he can linger for too long.
He doesn’t like the idea of just leaving, though, even if he tells Ken that he’s not upset at him before doing so. Makoto weighs his options, then adjusts his bag, giving Ken a little nod.
“Do you want to come with me?”

Makoto finds Ken awake past curfew and decides to keep him company in the way that he can.

Temenos puts on his Thinking Face. “There is a legend,” he begins slowly. “That the eight gods we worship now were not always eight, but twelve. There are some scriptures from old testaments in the Book of Brand that by many are interpreted to mean Brand could move so quickly in battle, it appeared as if there were two of him. However, this ‘second Brand’ is described as having six arms, a different weapon in each hand. Some of these scholars even believe it is a different god altogether, though they are never named.”
Crick gulps. “Six arms?”
Temenos nods. “I wonder…”
“What are you scheming now?”
Temenos moves his hand from Crick’s arm to the small of his back, applying just enough pressure that Crick stumbles forward a step. “It appears the ‘second Brand’ has taken a liking to you. Approach the dais and answer their call.”
