A flash of orange greets him in his peripheral, and for a second he does a cartoon-style double take. Is that a girl? It can’t be a girl. Surely they don’t have mixed gender student accommodation at Todai. It doesn’t seem that progressive here.
“Hey.” The person says, and Dazai realises they are addressing him. Because he’s the only one in the room. “You must be Dazai, I’m Nakahara Chuuya. But please, for the love of God, just call me Chuuya.”
Definitely not a girl.

So he rides into town with the roughspun sack of nekker heads at his side before hitching Roach to the post outside the jailhouse. He nudges the door open with the toe of his dusty boot and drops the heads on the sheriff’s desk, levelling an unimpressed look at the portly man with a golden star badge pinned to his shirt.Series
