The prince didn’t know what to say, if he should say anything at all, so he simply stared up, waited. The biting chill of the blade didn’t subside, until it did, until it was suddenly lifted off his neck, and the beautiful king who was not yet king disappeared into the trees.
That was the first time he’d faced down so many emotions and come out unhurt. A mercy he had never seen before, and he had no idea how he was meant to feel about it.

Prince Shouto has clung to the idea of "Death" since he was a child. He never thought he was real, not in the sense of him being an actual person, but that's what kept him going. That, and his retinue.
When an assassination attempt goes wrong, he finds himself put in a very confusing position, and unhappier with the state of his kingdom than he had ever been before.(It's really not as dark as the tags make it sound, I just want to be careful about triggers.)

Summary
Valentine's Day has come and gone, and now white day has come, and really, the least he can do is return the favor to Todoroki, show off his own affections. Of course, then he gets dragged into an impromptu modeling job courtesy of his parents, and though he'd love to do any of the many things he'd had planned, he figures he can at least drag Todoroki along for it.
Todoroki, who's only comment is that he just wants to spend time with Bakugou, no matter what they're doing. Which definitely doesn't make him feel things. It doesn't.

He hadn't planned on doing anything, he certainly hadn't planned on confessing, but one off handed mention to Izuku about it and somehow he had ended up here, completely failing at making chocolates. Just so that he could confess to Bakugou. What had his life become.

Summary
Midoriya didn't really know what to think with Todoroki's primary descriptions of Bakugou being that he was "sweet and cute". He struggled to imagine that side of his childhood friend. Still, when he sees Todoroki looking shaken up one morning, and refusing to talk to any of his friends, he hoped he'd at least go to his boyfriend.
And he did. Midoriya just never expected to witness it.
