Summary
The problem with magic, as the young mage Edmund Thornberry would tell you, is that it makes so many things possible—and only some of them are explicitly forbidden. How is a boy to know which is which? One could ask one's father, naturally. The older mage would tell. But that goes against every instinct of boyhood. Some lessons, it seems, must be learned the hard way.
This is a collection of stories about childhood, magic, and the trouble that inevitably follows, landing the young mage over his father's knee, in his father's study, in the woodshed, and other uncomfortable places. Mind the tags and make sure you are good with them before reading.
