When December comes back from the dead, she doesn't expect to get tired of being alive so quickly. And yet, living in Hometown is starting to feel like a chore to her. So what better way to escape from this torment than by going on a road trip with her sister, her sister's crush, and her sister's childhood best friend! If only she had known just how messed up the relationships between them were...
And so, the four of them embark on what was meant to be a light, fun summer vacation; and, hopefully, they can work through their personal issues together in the mean time.

Summary
By now, Asriel is thoroughly convinced this is all one big elaborate prank from Kris that they've gotten everyone in Hometown to collaborate on.
Sure, they have an attractive, athletic, incredibly strong, tomboy-ish dragon gamer girlfriend who's actually incredibly kind and charismatic and has a radiant smile and a cute, dorky side, and is also literally God's favorite. Sure, Asriel totally believes that. And somehow, despite this woman apparently being the embodiment of everything good and hopeful about this world, Kris is apparently too ashamed to tell him anything about her.

Kris is far too secretive about their girlfriend, and Asriel, all too curious, decides to do his own research. Who is this mythical 'girlfriend', and why does Mom like her so much? Is Kris just pranking him?
He gets into a lot of misunderstandings along the way.

Noelle was there, at the center of it all, so she only heard what it was like for everyone else in the days that followed. The smell of dust in the air. The way the shadows, cast by no light, started to squirm. The wave of nausea that rolled through the town, old wounds aching and scars unsealing themselves.
Then, the sound of the bunker door slamming shut.
She's certain they hated her. Maybe they still do. It was Noelle's dark world that Susie never came back from, after all.

After a long day of "studying" at the Librarby and goofing off around town, Susie walks Kris home. To no one's surprise, the human had completely neglected to mention that they had THREE younger siblings, and seeing them interact with the kids leads to her seeing a whole new side to her new best friend.
