It wasn’t quite so dire as that, but Godzilla did not say so. This wasn’t a battle he could fight for Kong; no amount of reassurance would help until Kong was ready to hear it. “Then I wish you luck in the Core, and I hope you find what you’re looking for.” Home, family, purpose, whatever it was that drove Kong forward.
