Summary
He slid his free hand, sticky with fruit blood, up the column of Will’s neck. He gripped it. It was tighter than a friend should grip. It was possessive. He wrapped his fingers around Will’s throat, his thumb pressing into the pulse point.
The eye contact was insane. It was a physical tether.
"You want…" Mike’s voice was a wreck. A rasp. "… a strawberry?"
The tension in the room was high enough to shatter glass. And then, Will let out a wet, breathless chuckle.
"You’re an idiot," Will breathed.
The dream always starts the same way: with the weight of steel and the rustle of silk. In his sleep, Mike is a Paladin and Will is his light. In reality, Mike is an almost divorced academic from Indiana and Will is a cynical artist with wine stains on his chin and a cigarette between his lips. A weekend in the city was supposed to be a goodbye to the past. Instead, it becomes a messy, strawberry-sweet surrender to a hunger that seven years couldn't starve.

Summary
Vecna is defeated and the party is preparing for final exams. Will has a problem, he can’t seem to relax. He’s tried pretty much everything but he can’t let go. He talks to his friends about it and they all seem to have their own ways of coping. Still nothing is working, he wishes he was like any other teenage boy, wishes his trauma wouldn't get in the way of a very natural biological function. But he just can't seem to get Vecna's visions out of his head. Enter Mike.
Mike gives Will the massage of a lifetime.

Summary
Eight years after the defeat of Vecna and self-sacrifice of Eleven, Michael Wheeler can't seem to move on from his former best friend Will Byers, even as they drift further and further apart. He spills his feelings out in letters to Will that he never intends to send, and hopes he can someday move on and push these feelings down for good. This repression is stopped by a late-night phone call, drunkenly sent mail, and the idea that maybe Will hasn't moved on either.
