“A birthday present,” Billie responded quietly and set the flowers down beside the pizza so that the addressed envelope was facing her directly. He could tell by her expression that Olivia recognized the handwriting at once, making her look like she’d just seen a ghost—probably an apt comparison—and she moved as slowly as he had, sitting forward to drop her slice back into the box and rubbing the grease off onto her black leggings. Billie nodded at her, and then towards the bouquet, standing by the coffee table with his arms folded tight across his aching chest and bottom lip between his teeth. Waiting.

Summary
Canon divergent AU where Satine escaped from Mandalore in “The Lawless” and subsequently finds Obi-Wan on Tatooine after the events of Revenge of the Sith. Obi-Wan has to decide how much of his pain and how many of his secrets to divulge to the one person who can see through his “half-truths and hyperbole”, while Satine tries to find purpose in a galaxy where she can't rule Mandalore. Mainly hurt/comfort, with some lighter domestic fluff thrown in and a happy ending.
Warning for brief descriptions of PTSD-like symptoms.

Obi-Wan has only known life in the Tower with his father for his entire life. He yearns for an adventure, a life he can call his own. When the thief, Satine, stumbles across his tower, he takes the opportunity to go search for a life he chooses to live.
"Obi-Wan swings the frying pan as hard as he can, hitting the intruder on the head, and when they drop he lets his arms fall. He kneels and rolls the person over onto their back and is surprised to find it’s a lady that broke into his tower. And she’s utterly beautiful. Pale skin, long lashes, beautiful blonde hair tied up in a short ponytail. To be fair he hasn’t seen that many people in his life, but she still has to be the most beautiful woman on the planet."

Summary
After the events of The Phantom Menace, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine sees his chance to approach the true Chosen One: Obi-Wan Kenobi. Exploiting Obi-Wan's difficult situation, his genetic predispositions, and vulnerabilities brought on by a high midichlorian count, he succeeds in hooking him on alcohol. Addiction is a pathway to the Dark Side. Obi-Wan does his best to bring up Anakin and fulfill his responsibilities as a Jedi, but this gets increasingly difficult as his alcoholism progresses. Following a disastrous lifeday celebration for Anakin that ends in Obi-Wan hitting rock bottom, Obi-Wan discovers that he has a network of Jedi and biological family and fellow recovering addicts as he gets sober and rebuilds his life, striving to be a better Jedi than ever before. This includes taking responsibility for some past actions and choices and paying it forward--with mixed results--as he uncovers Sith nefariousness and fights it with the help of friends and family.

I don’t have a choice, she reminded herself, her eyes glued to the temple Guardian standing proudly next to the main entrance.
This was a no-return point, if she crossed these doors, she wouldn’t be able to take it back and she might possibly destroy the life of the one other person she held dearer than her own life…other than that of the vulnerable being in her arms. She tightened her hold. It was a risk she couldn’t avoid anymore. They were running out of time and she couldn’t do this on her own, not anymore.
“Excuse me?” she addressed the closest Jedi Guardian she approached. She pretended not to be intimated by the uniform and before she could change her mind the next words were out of her mouth.
“Would you be so kind as to tell me where I could find Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi?”

The one-year mission on Mandalore during Obi-Wan's padawan years had an unforeseen consequence. They haven't seen each other in three years - but Korkie is sick; Obi-Wan might be the only one able to save him anymore and Satine travels to the Jedi temple.
