Summary
Suguru writes little messages on strips of paper that he folds into stars - small confessions that Satoru aren’t privy to the way he used to be - and he sees the way his best friend is pulling away from him, step-by-step, day-by-day.
Satoru starts folding origami cranes, hoping it will be enough to help Suguru where he can’t. What starts off as a little whimsical wish turns into something more and something bigger than he expects, his heart tucked into every fold of every paper with every crane he makes. He doesn’t know if it’s enough but he wishes.

He doesn't expect the man behind the counter to have a voice like a memory and a cursed energy signature so suppressed it feels like a bruise on the universe.

Summary
Geto told himself it was proximity. Circumstance. Long days, shared danger, the strange intimacy of surviving things together. People bonded under pressure all the time. There was nothing inherently wrong with finding comfort in someone else’s presence.
But the comfort didn’t feel neutral, it felt pointed. Specific. Like the way his attention gravitated toward Gojo without conscious intent, tracking him through a room even when nothing demanded it. Like the way his chest tightened when Gojo laughed with someone else, sharp and irrational and immediately buried.
He hated that part of himself most. Wanting something without deciding to want it. Being pulled instead of choosing. It felt too close to how curses had always worked.
Unwanted. Unasked for. There anyway.
Geto accepts Gojo's invitation to accompany him on a cross-country trip to exorcise curses and learns, despite himself, that some things take root no matter how carefully you try not to want them.
