When the Dursleys are unable to find anybody to keep Harry during their holiday across the pond, they reluctantly decide to bring him along. Thus, Harry is nearby the battle in Mission City, and is hit by a fragment of the cube when Sam Witwicky shoves the AllSpark into Megatron’s chest… which merges with his magical core, granting him unique powers and knowledge. Blaming Harry for their being so close to such otherworldly events, Vernon takes him to a forgotten scrapyard to give him the beating of his life and abandon him to die, only for Harry’s accidental magic to awaken a new protector, by merging the remains of two old mechanical defenders of Truth, Justice, and Liberty: Airwolf, and the Knight Industries Two Thousand.
