Summary
Miyano Shiho is a graduate student in Nagano, studying biochemistry under the brilliant professor Noto Minori and alongside her friend and colleague, Amari Kagura. For years, Shiho's friend Kagura had dreamed of meeting her idol, Kudo Shinichi, the famous detective. As it happens, Shinichi comes to Nagano to investigate a case: Kagura's disappearance. With Kagura out of contact, Shiho puts everything aside to find her friend before Kagura comes to harm. Forced to work with an arrogant and eccentric detective, Shiho is nevertheless tempted by Shinichi's charms, but Shiho's history casts a black shadow over their budding relationship, and Shinichi carries scars from a recent breakup with his longtime girlfriend. When the case involves Shiho's advisor, Shiho must reckon with the choices she made and the people she trusted, all while trying to hold on to a connection with Shinichi that might be too good to be true.
