Detarame（出鱈目）is a Japanese term usually with a negative connotation, referring to something done carelessly: haphazardly or randomly...
Without any planning or logic, pure randomness... It's perfect for the concept of this fic!
TLDR... Basically, Subaru gains a random ability through a power he possesses alongside RBD.

Summary
It happens in moments.
There is an apology laced in the way Taco raises her brows like so, and there is an apology in the way she takes meek steps forward to come face to face with Microphone. Her eyes sparkle in the light of their creator, and she smiles shyly, teeth glimmering with a mirth that can only be found in the reflection of the pond at the Garden of Eden.
They do not talk (there is not much to say) but they keep close (they have never been good at words). They are together in the way that Taco’s palm curls around Mic’s fingers, lingering gently. They are together in the way Microphone brushes the ends of her fingers against the top of Taco’s head when they move to a second location (their creator created them for entertainment) just so she can make sure Taco is following; that she is there (but there is nothing entertaining in the way they love, just for themselves).

The four times Taco apologizes, and the one time Microphone forgives her.

Summary
Natsuki Subaru didn't die during the loop where Rem tortures him in the forest and Ram manages to save him under Roswaal's orders.
However Rem has not only torn his right leg off but his left arm, right eye, and fried the nerves in his legs causing him to always be in a state of agony.
What is left of the poor boy who had only wanted to help save and protect everyone is someone who is not only traumatized but full of despair, hatred, and paranoia.
OR
Basically Subaru ends up a bit like Wrathbaru but not completely evil and Ram didn't sever his head or leg like she originally did to give him mercy and Satella/Envy has updated the checkpoint to an hour after he was saved so Subaru cannot go back to the first day of the mansion.

After all, even though he was kind to everyone, a demon trained in the Breath of the Sun who hunted down the Twelve Demon Moons was sure to strike fear into the hearts of demons and slayers alike. Personally, though, he preferred older brother.
