Summary
“All the best memories are made in High school.”
Joel was certain, before a disastrous Saturday evening, that that quote did not pertain to him even partially. He was asocial and had a nasty temper if things didn’t go his way, so no memories had gathered so far on his end.
However, following a therapy session that same day, Joel is made to attend theatre club without any knowledge of acting, and a few days later is comedically chosen as the star of the trimesters play.
That’s when things start to get interesting, Joel’s life taking a turn for the better or worse—he isn’t sure. But so far, his ‘memories’ have been nothing but stress and over-working, with the sole exception of his extraordinarily handsome best friend, who also seems to have reservations about the club.
Will the show go well? Or will Joel just flop it like he did with all his other tasks?

"You're really into this guy, huh?" Cleo says as Bdubs settles into his seat at the table. Etho's getting the hang of knitting enough that Bdubs finally feels safe to knit too, while he sits beside him ready to help if needed. He only brings idiot-proof stuff to work, anyway, since he's always getting interrupted.
"Excuse me?" Bdubs asks. He aims for teasing, but it comes out a little too raw for that. She must be joking, but god, shouldn't Cleo know better as his best friend?
"Not like that—" they say quickly. "I know you're aromantic and stuff, I mean. Just, like, that you like him a lot, right? You've got a friend-crush.".
