PI: Isn’t that what we’re doing by spending all our time in chats like this, anyways?Five Pebbles's frustration with the Cycle, the Great Problem, with existence finally bubbles over. He has to take drastic measures to find an escape from this misery he's drowning in- and he's finally been given an idea how to do so.

He had not intended to do this. She was a Ride Pokemon, sacred to the Pearl Clan. He was a Warden. He was not supposed to capture her in a pokeball. Even if she did it herself.
This could have consequences. He would need to switch tracks quickly to avoid those, preferably.

There was a ghost in the Icelands. Said to tower over any person with cold flames dancing around it and eyes as pale as snow. A wondering spirit with a cloak of shadows streaked in blood. If you were unlucky enough to find yourself lost the spirit would find you, it’s snow white eyes seeing into your very soul and bright purple blue flames hypnotic attempting to lead you astray. It was said to have a voice louder than thunder speaking in a language unlike anything anyone has ever heard.
-Or, people take on aspects of their partner pokemon. Only the wardens of Hisui have thus far have bonded close enough to show this. So then, what is this man that shares so many traits with a ghost?

Summary
Hallownest isn't just dying, it's dead. Perhaps that isn't such a bad thing. Perhaps, in the ashes of this kingdom, friendship and love can rise. And that's to say nothing of Pharloom...
Series title is a song lyric from the RWBY song All Things Must Die because, well, yes. They do. Doesn't mean they have to stay dead, though, expect an above-average level of character death fix-its even by my standards and generally working to make things better against overwhelming odds. Hornet turns up a lot because I love her and because I thought it would be fun to give her quite a lot of game with the ladies.

It still hurt, even after two years. Two years since Ingo’s disappearance, his vanishing, his seemingly popping out of existence with not a trace left behind except his poké balls. Two years of missing posters, news reports, headlines, police interviews, investigations, nightmares, long nights, sobbing, pleading, loneliness, not knowing…
Ingo was gone And not one person knew why.
You and Emmet never stopped looking, even when everyone else gave up around you. But it was hard. You still had to work, you still had to live, you had to weather looks of pity and never-ending comments of “I’m sorry for your loss” when you didn’t even know if he was dead.
But Ingo wouldn’t give up.
So neither would you.

Summary
She remembers waking up, getting breakfast, and waiting for the day to start. She does not remember falling asleep, but she does remember waking up again. Only this time, it's cold, her body is wrong (yet somehow right), and she's suspended in what feels like egg whites. Oh, and her egg-mate? Yeah, that's Ghost. The Knight. Protagonist of hit indie video game Hollow Knight. And she... appears to be in the title role. Yippee.
Alright, comprehensive plan is this:
1. don't die
2. don't let Ghost die
3. fix everythingThis'll be fun. (And by fun, well, let's just say... mental breakdown.)
Heavily inspired by FreakOfYourNature's A Not-So-Hollow Knight (self insert dies painfully and for some reason reincarnates as the Hollow Knight, then proceeds to obliterate any sense of coherence Hallownest had left), but with two key differences: One, said self insert is infinitely less aggressive, and Two, the Pale King is actually a decent person. And maybe... maybe he could even become a decent father.
