Seven year old Goro Akechi and thirteen year old Minato Arisato meet one strange November day in 2006.
Despite Minato being a very strange person, Goro has never been happier to have a friend- one who doesn't care about how he was born or how his Mama works. The two of them spend grey afternoons exploring the city and Aoyama graveyard, with Goro learning about life and how to help his Mom with what he can do. And even if this friendship won't last, it's important it lasted at all.

Kenji Tomochika doesn't want much really- the list concerns only of ramen, Tv, safety for his sis, and a girlfriend. Strangely though, he does end up getting one of those, as a third year teacher Kanou Emiri seems to like him.
As happy as Kenji should be, everything just feels out of place despite this being his biggest dream- regardless he tries to just brush all of the confusion off.
Even so, Kenji may not have many friends but Arisato Minato is, and there's only so much he can ignore.

“I guess it is,” Minato said.
Just before Maiko moves away, Minato gifts her a stationery set.

The world became a series of unwanted hot irons for Minato to be pressed against, one after another, with no one to stay with him or even for a moment put his little face under the cold tap, he was thrown, again and again and again. It was as if the world was trying to punish him for his continued existence.

“Know him?” Akira asks, lips downturned just slightly, and, in that second, he’s sure Akira knows. He’s sure he doesn’t even have to say it.
“Used to.” He does, anyway. “That’s my old man’s name, you know? Or - was six years ago, at least. Who knows what he’s been up to since then.”
The Phantom Thieves get a forum request about an uncomfortably familiar name. Ryuji, though, doesn't think it's such a big deal.
