The first time Katsuki saw the kid with the glowing freckles, he thought someone had dropped a tiny constellation into the sandbox.
It was a hot day, the kind where everything smelled like sunscreen and warm pavement. Katsuki was digging a hole to the center of the earth—because he could—and the other kids were either watching from a distance or pretending he wasn’t real. He didn’t mind. He didn’t need them. He had dirt, and dirt didn’t talk back.
But then he showed up.
A boy with a mop of soft brown curls and wide eyes that looked like they belonged to someone who’d never learned how to be afraid. His knees were already scraped, shoes untied, and he plopped down in the sandbox like he’d been invited.
Katsuki stared at him.
The boy blinked. “Hi.”

It’s like a language I’m not fluent in, and I just stand at the edges, waiting for a moment when someone might turn to me. But no one does. Not yet.
I’m not bitter about it. Really. I’ve just learned that people don’t really stick around, so I don’t bother trying. Besides, what’s the point of trying if you’re always gonna be disappointed? I’m used to it.

Cerise Hood adjusted the hood of her red cape as she slipped silently through the Enchanted Forest near Ever After High. She had always felt at home in the quiet embrace of the woods, away from the prying eyes and endless gossip of her classmates. The half-wolf, half-human daughter of Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf lived a life of careful secrecy, concealing her wolfish heritage to protect her family.
Tonight, however, her solitude was interrupted.
"Hey, Cerise!"
Cerise froze, her sharp senses immediately identifying the cheerful voice behind her. She turned to see Daring Charming, the golden-haired prince with the perfect smile, making his way through the trees. Even in the dim light, he looked like he belonged on the cover of a fairytale book.
"Daring?" she asked, her voice low and cautious. "What are you doing out here?"

Tyler pieces together all of the little clues Wednesday accidently gives him, and the conclusion he reaches is delightful.
