Before he could stop himself Tim was taking in a sharp breath that sounded almost pained.
One of his men must have talked, he supposed that’s what you got when you hire anyone who’s interested, but it still hurt. Maybe he should create proper profiles on all of them once this is done so he can deduce who’s trustworthy and who isn’t.

Bluejay smiled faintly, “No problem. I’m sorry I wasn’t quicker.”
Dick followed his gaze downwards to his now ripped top was that revealing new bruises underneath.
“Not your problem,” Dick replied. “I’ve had worse.”
Bluejay’s jaw clenched, “Yeah I can imagine.”
Dick moved to walk past when suddenly a hand shot out. It stopped before it could grasp his arm, lingering there as the boy hesitated. Slowly, Dick turned to face him.
“I just…” Bluejay frowned, biting his lip. “There are shelters. The Wayne Foundation ones are good, they’re not trafficking fronts like the others. I know it feels like you have no choice, but there are better options out there.”
“Yeah.” Dick managed to choke out. “Sure, there are kid.”
Or: Dick isn't adopted by Bruce when his parents die. Years later he's making a living as a prostitute on the streets whilst trying to avoid Batman and his new sidekick.

“How are the new pinchers coming in?” she asked. Then, without giving him the chance to actually respond, grabbed his face in both her hands and dug her thumbs into the hinges of his jaw prompting it to drop open. “Awww, they’re so cute! And tiny! Tim batted her hands away, huffing. “Yes.”
