Shona wakes up to someone repeating her name. She doesn’t want to move. Her only complaint is that her foot is cold, slipped out from under the blanket, but the rest of her body is pleasantly warm and she focuses on that instead.
“Shona.” The same voice, but it’s comforting more than anything else, so Shona makes a noise and tucks her face back against her pillow. But it isn’t a pillow, it’s Charlotte’s chest, her t-shirt that smells like Shona’s detergent and it stretches across Charlotte differently.
“I will dump water on your head if you don’t wake up.” A different voice and panic suddenly builds up in Shona’s chest. She rolls over, off Charlotte’s body, back onto her own side of the bed, and feels like she just got caught.

Summary
I couldn't wait for the new series, so decided to write my own Series 7 script. It's as close as I can make it to the feel of the show - there's a opening set-piece, a long interrogation scene, a suspect of the series etc. But there's also a bit more time given to the characters' emotional storylines and some romance. Strong language and some violence.
When AC-12 discovered a box buried in concrete, full of evidence linking police officers to historic cases, they found a bloody knife covered with the fingerprints of one DS Mary Wilkins. Mary is an exemplary police officer, and the blood on the knife could not be linked to any known homicides or mispers. But if she's innocent, then what was the knife doing there?
It's been a year since the events of Series 6. Carmichael is running a much-reduced AC-12, and links to organised crime are no longer a priority of the force. Hastings has been moved sideways into admin. Kate has been promoted to DCI and is running her own Targetted Ops team. Steve is off painkillers, but has failed his medical review and is stuck on desk duty.
None of them work for AC-12 any more. But they're still interested in one thing, and one thing only ...
