Mike makes his way over to the bed and sits. “Does Mom think it does?”
“Yes,” Holly says, exasperatedly throwing Astronaut Barbie to the floor and standing with her hands on her hips. She looks alarmingly like Nancy. “She thinks he makes me do things. She thinks he scares me.”
“But he doesn’t scare you.”
“No!” she says, relieved at his understanding. “He doesn’t! He’s so so nice, Mike, and he just wants to help us! He says…” she trails off, looking at him suspiciously. “Will you tell Mom?”
He crosses his heart and holds his hands in the air placatingly. “I promise.”
She gives him one more suspicious look, then closes the door and crawls onto the bed and whispers.
“He says there are monsters coming tonight.”

When Mike’s sister Holly is kidnapped to an alternate dimension by a “monster,” it kickstarts the latest nightmare in which the crew grapples with the knowledge that some old enemies are back - and stronger. How can they defeat the master of manipulation when they’re already on uncertain terms with each other?

Summary
Less than a week away from the end of the world, Mike begins to see The Clock.
Which means he must have some deep-seated guilt – or shame. Something Vecna can leverage against him. But the problem is: he doesn't.
So what if he's terrified of losing Will again? That's not weird. That's normal. It's called being a good friend.
Which Will obviously isn't, because he refuses to tell Mike what HIS secret is that's making him vulnerable to Vecna's possessions. And now it's Mike's job to keep Will tied up and blindfolded at his side at all times, just when Will inconveniently starts having very soft-looking lips and gleaming hair and is now talking about how he has to die if Vecna is to die, and-

Three weeks ago, if you had asked Leo if monsters were real, he would have said only the ones that reside in your head. Like the zombie lady clothed in black who spoke to him outside his mother’s warehouse, or the haunting voices of Tia Rosa and Tia Callida.
Or even people like Teresa, or James, past foster parents who lived in Leo’s nightmares as more monster than human. But now Leo knew that the list continued beyond those that inhabited his mind.
