    Dream of the Endless checks into The New Inn as a guest. Hob wasn’t aware but, apparently, symbols and sympathies have power and rebuilding a place of reunion and remembrance counts as a form of alliance. All that to say, The New Inn is a place of protection to denizens of the Dreaming. Even its king. IE: Dream takes an extended break in the Waking World. Hob frantically pretends his centuries-deep crush is something he can keep ignoring when circumstance calls him to defend his wayfaring friend and vice versa.

    Dream was following the pull of the magic to its origin so he could find the person responsible, repay his debt, and put the whole thing to rest once and for all. He knew, now, the power offered to him was one born from adoration.
    That left him feeling curious, despite himself. Who would have sought his gift with so much fervor, and what would they ask in exchange for their devotion? Had Dream been at his full power, in the Dreaming, he would have ignored the call, the power offered amounting to nothing, not even worth consideration, but given the circumstances, the debt he had before him now was a difficult one to compensate. He hoped it wasn't someone like Burgess, asking for things that weren't his to give, or… surely it hadn't been Hob, right?
