    Summary

In which Tony Stark loses everything, and when he's got nothing left to lose and everything to gain, he'll put himself on the line. Otherwise a hurt/comfort fic where I promise a happy ending will await you.

The worst thing to ever happen to Tony Stark wasn’t the cave in Afghanistan—the searing pain of shrapnel burrowing toward his heart like a merciless, jagged claw. It wasn’t the house collapsing into the ocean after he all but invited a terrorist to his front door. It wasn’t unleashing Ultron, watching the team fracture beneath his feet like a shattered pane of glass, or having a shield slammed into his chest with the force of betrayal itself.

It wasn’t even the day Peter Parker disintegrated into dust, though that image haunted him relentlessly—Peter, wide-eyed and terrified, clutching at Tony’s arm like his life depended on it as he begged him to fix something unfixable.

Those moments had been bad—cataclysmic, even. But none of them compared to that day.

The day Tony finally got his kid back—only to watch him snap his fingers.

    Summary

There's a kid roaming around Gotham who looks eerily similar to one of their own. He has his nose, his smile, and his annoying ability of acrobatically removing himself from awkward situations.

So if the kid really is Dick's son, it only makes sense to bring him in, right? Peter's probably homeless, weirdly dusty, and yet strangely steadfast in his lie that his "guardian" is at home just asleep.

"He's just super tired from the trip. Passed out as soon as we got here actually. But he's at home waiting for me."

That has to be a lie. Right?

Peter was always told not to take candy from strangers. Why didn't anyone warn him about taking golden apples from a god?

Or: Peter meets Thor and Loki before they head off to find their father -- everything is different.
