Brows furrowed, you lift your gaze again to Liam’s face, where his eyes trace over your features from just a few inches away. In the dim light of the hallway you can just make out that blue-grey under his lashes, the muted color his eyes turn when there’s no sunlight to brighten them.
“I’m sober as f**k right now,” he continues in that deep, patient cadence you’ve always loved. He threads his long fingers through your hair at your nape, shifting his weight to adjust your back more comfortably into the recessed door frame. “So no, I’m not asking because I’m drunk. I’m asking because I’m going to miss you if you leave.”
