Summary
Jayce was staring at the wall when Viktor found him, stubble already overgrown, hair shorn. He looked broken, fragile. A lost little boy thrown to wolves. Viktor had the ridiculous urge to pull him close, stroke his hair, and let him fall asleep in his lap, safe from harm. He didn’t know the man, only his journal.
“I hope I am not interrupting,” Viktor said, halfway between the dark humor of his home and Piltover politeness.
Jayce’s hazel eyes swung to him, bloodshot and puffy. He shook his head once, slowly, as if he were ashamed. The urge to cradle him grew stronger, a living thing in his chest.
Jayce is thrown into Stillwater after his experiment kills a teenage girl. Viktor finds his journal and becomes obsessed, retreating to Zaun to continue his work with the help of his old mentor. It only takes seven years of obsessive work and a jailbreak to reunite them.

OR, sometimes you find yourself happily enjoying Team Fight Tactics and get a shapeshift group of which Jayce is part of only to find he doesn't turn into a cool animal or golem, he just goes from ranged to melee fighter and you get so mad you make a whole story about it.

But, when two years pass and Morgana shows up at Merlin’s door, urging him to fill Gaius’ position as Court Physician, Merlin agrees. He really doesn’t know why, but Arthur is sure Merlin would do just about anything to get on his nerves.
Unprepared for the shock of seeing Merlin back in the castle, Arthur is forced to speed along his plans to lift the ban on magic. But between stubborn councilors, a mysterious plague, a still angry Merlin, and Morgana being Morgana, Arthur is fairly certain he’ll lose his mind before the first year of his reign even ends.

It sounded teasing. Flirty even. His heart stopped when he heard the word said after so long. Someone has been calling his friend by his name all these years and it wasn’t him.
“Just something for astrophysics, do you want to recommend me something?” Jayce’s voice deadpanned.
Viktor has imagined Jayce’s voice would be a little lower than that. Is his voice higher now because he’s annoyed with the other person? He sounds exasperated. How does he sound when he’s laughing?
He had to calm down. Maybe it wasn’t his Jayce. It could be a stranger, he wouldn’t know how does Jayce sound now.
“I could recommend something better than books,” the other voice said.
“Then I think you shouldn’t be in a library,” Jayce retorted sharply.
