The Neo-World Program,
a project that was seemingly the ultimate solution that would save the world from b̶e̶a̶u̶t̶i̶f̶u̶l̶ despair.
Some could say the monokuma virus that slipped i̶t̶ ̶d̶i̶d̶n̶'̶t̶ the defenses of the Future Foundation t̶r̶a̶i̶t̶o̶r̶ was somewhat of a gift in disguise. While it caused the people affected to be reintroduced to despair, it also showed them how to fight n̶o̶ ̶d̶o̶n̶t̶ ̶f̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶i̶t̶ it off. They ultimately saw through it and desperately grasped the thin string of hope dangling just out of reach.

...Daniel gets hurt when a plan goes wrong. Charlie, June, and Bosco don't handle it well.

Bosco picks up a bell pepper. “Do I just, like, chop them into squares?”
Pausing with wrapped chicken in hand, Danny stares at Bosco, who averts his gaze. He wants to make another signature J. Daniel Atlas remark, saying he can’t believe Bosco seriously doesn’t know how to chop bell peppers at his age. But a deeper part of him aches for how the poor kid didn’t have anyone to teach him how to cook.
(3 times j. daniel atlas looked out after the new horsemen and 1 time they looked out for him)
