Instead of three Gryffindors, the trio consists of a Slytherin, a Ravenclaw, and a Hufflepuff. No matter what, they're on each other's teams. And also, they probably need more than just two friends, and maybe even some competent adults.
And meanwhile, in the firmaments, the war builds.
Or: the power the Dark Lord Knows Not is friendship, but in a split-knuckled, brutally co-dependent sort of way.

I think this is the best fucking series rewrite I have ever read. Platonic Soulmates, Ravenclaw Hermione, Hufflepuff Ron, Slytherin Harry. What if Snape actually has a heart? Crime Lord Gryffindoors. The little changes that make everything different.

Summary
Thirteen years have past. Katara has left the Avatar, although nobody knows why. She is happy to be distracted from her own troubles when she receives a request- the Fire Lady is suffering from a strange illness and Zuko hopes Katara can heal her.
