It’s Zuko’s last chance. End of the road. The Avatar is right there, and Azula is seconds away from killing it.
Who are you, Zuko? And what do you want?
Not this.
An AU in which Zuko discovers he might actually be okay with… just serving tea in his Uncle’s shop. The Avatar State, however, is not happy about Zuko’s habit of throwing himself bodily at every problem and hoping it magically fixes itself.
Companion one-shot to the Lessens in Tenacity series but it does stand alone.

Summary
Aang's desperate to recruit Zuko as his new firebending teacher after Zuko makes the correct decision to not be an idiot in the catacombs, saving Aang's life.
During his attempt, good fortune (or maybe bad luck) leads to Aang meeting Jin from the lower ring and discovering her crush on Zuko. In his attempt to play matchmaker, partly for Zuko's sake, but mostly for his own, he drags Sokka away from an important war meeting to help him.
But Sokka knows his plan is going to crash and burn, because love is hard. And people are complicated.And firebenders aren't even people to begin with.
Companion piece to A Lesson in Tenacity, you'll probably be confused if you haven't read it.

Summary
The comics confirm that Master Piandao trained Zuko in swordplay. But we know from the show that Sokka's master is very picky about who he trains. Titles and authority mean nothing to a man who can kick your butt with his eyes closed.
So how does a royal prince convince a picky master to teach him to stab things?
He doesn't.
Or: Zuko breaks into an old man's house and nearly gets murdered.

Izumi loved that scar. When she was too young to know what it was, she had smeared red paint over one eye and stuck a paper five-pronged crown in her ponytail. Dad didn’t like it. She didn’t understand why, until he explained what a scar was and why it hurt him to see her pretending to have one.
And now this man was going to give her one for real.
The smoke burned her throat. She choked, crying too hard now to form proper sentences, too scared to say anything other than, “Dad.”

Summary
Something's been bothering Zuko all day, and nobody knew what to do to get him to open up to them about it. Taking a page from the Water Tribe's traditions, the Gaang decides to share stories around a campfire to get him to open up.
In retrospect, they probably should've thought a bit more about what they were getting themselves into.
